Theyare available as Standard and High Feature electromechanicalmotor starter and High Feature electronic motorstarter versions.SIMATIC ET 200pro with electromechanical/electronicmotor starterThe electromechanical motorstarter is switched withconventional contactorsand is offered as direct orreversing starter with optional400 V brake control.The electronic motor starteris equipped with semiconductorswitching elementsand is thereforeespecially suited for applicationswith high switchingfrequencies. This high featuredevice not only handles the direct on/off switching of motorswith high switching frequency, but also fulfills the additionalfunction of a full-fledged soft starter for a soft start-upand stoppage. The conversion from motor starter to soft starteris achieved using simple re-parameterization in SIMATICManager.The High Feature motor starters differ from the Standard motorstarters in that they have more parameters and featurefour parameterizable digital inputs. Parameterization is easyand convenient to carry out using the SIMATIC Manager.The motor starters ET 200pro feature high functionality with asmall footprint, as well as simple and fast configuration andinstallation – and they increase the availability of productionplants.Easy installationThe compact ET 200pro motor starter can be installed in theET 200pro station with just a few actions. The integral connectortechnology results in significant reduction of the wiringoverhead. The motor cables can be plugged directly onto themotor starter module. The compact design enables up toeight motor starters to be integrated in a one meter widestation in the field.Electronic current measurementThe actual current flow with the ET 200pro motor starter ismeasured electronically. The evaluation of defined currentlimits for the parameterizable electronic overload protectionincreases the availability of the drive system. An upward ordownward violation is signaled by the ET 200pro to the hostcontroller, resulting in high plant availability.The motor starter recognizes unbalanced load currents, andswitches these off directly. All motor protection functions canbe defined by simple parameterization. The local control stationwhich is sometimes required for a drive is provided via theintegral digital inputs (High Feature motor starter) and cantherefore be easily incorporated into the control system.Special modules for further functionsIf required, a maintenanceswitch module can be used,which for example isolatesseries-connected startersfrom the supply voltage.Safety modulesThe Safety MotorstarterSolution local or SolutionPROFIsafe is used for safetyorientedapplications.For local safety applications,the Safety local maintenanceswitch module with safe inputand the 400 V discon-Maintenance switch modulenecting module are used.
