Another way of defining exports is as an inflow of money into the region, i.e. Motels have an inflowof money from people who live outside the region’s boundaries thus they are earning export dollars. Nodistinction is made between domestic and international exports. For instance, so exports of goods andservices from Pilbara Region include sales to the rest of the region.Regional Imports data represents the value ($) of goods and services imported into the defined region bybusinesses / organisations in each of the industry sectors. Another way of defining imports is as anoutflow of money from the region, i.e. a local business outsourcing accountancy services to a firm inanother region which results in an outflow of money thus they are importing services.
