They regained “Ossie”, and won theConference Championship. Captain Wentzel ledhis team to victory. He not only led them, butdrove them. When he called a signal, the teamwas all ears. Widseth came close to Wentzel inbeing the most valuable man. When we got theball close to our opponent’s goal and old Joe startedto drive, the score was easily realized. Theteam was composed of a powerful line and aquick, shifty and powerful backfield. Probablythe most thrilling work of the team was in thegame with Grand Rapids. The boys held the opponentson our own four yard line for fourclowns. Freije made a spectacular tackle when aGrand Rapids man had intercepted a pass intendedfor one of our men. The team shows greatprospects for next year.
