Our AdvisersMy three years of close association with youhave been a real privilege and a pleasure. Wehave established a bond which I hope, throughour planning and working together, has made uslive life a little more keenly, abundantly and sensitively.We have each of us given somethingworth while of our personalities and have takensomething worth while in return.My wish to you is that, as each member of agreat symphony orchestra plays his part to thebest of his ability in order that the combinationof all parts creates one rich harmonious andbeautiful tone, you also play your part in life tothe best of your ability, in order to create onerich, harmonious, and beautiful tone in that greatestof symphonies-life.Katherine HennigIt couldn’t have been much past the first weekof school-that evening when I was sitting therein my room and someone came to say that I hadbeen elected one of your advisers. That night Ihad no idea what it meant. Well, I’ve learned.Pleasantly, too, I might add. For it has been funto be with you-to be in class with you; to eatwith you; to publish an Aggie with you; to chatwith you; to graduate with you.Don’t think these associations will end with thefinal item-graduation. O. no ! Some of you willbe back next year. Others will pop up from timeto time here and there. And what fun that willhe when we meet or when you meet eachother. And the thought of that is the importantthing. Your education isn’t what you learn-it’swhat you remember after you’ve forgotten allyou learned. You have really lived while you’vebeen here. So many things have been so terriblyimportant. They’ve been so keen-so vital-justas you, individually and collectively, are keen andvital. My sincerest wish is that everything youdo-your working and playing-will go on as itis-energetically, whole-heartedly. May yours bethe happiness that conies with the thrilling joy ofliving.Donald C.
