If serotonergic realityis modulated in the beta range at 12-30 Hz, and the hallucinogenicinterrupt of tryptamine Y is modulated to 24 Hz, then there will be apredictable 24 Hz frame flicker superimposed over normal perceptionwhen you ingest hallucinogen Y. The physical intensity and tactile sensuality of thehallucinogenic spirit overlay will depend on the speed, shape, andintensity of the interrupt’s ADSR envelope; higher doses ofhallucinogen typically means harder attack, longer sustain, softerrelease, and more seamless merging between reality and hallucination.Driving Interrupt Amplitude and ADSR TransitionsAs a psychedelic chemical is ingested and metabolized, thefrequency and ADSR envelope of the hallucinogenic interrupt willtransition slightly over time. Goa Trancemusic is the psychedelic essence of resonant hallucinogenic tryptamineinterrupt expressing itself through modern ritual entrainmenttechnology. Using an electrically amplified sound system, a trance DJcan manipulate a tribe of thousands in the same way a traditionalshaman manipulates a tribe of dozens (Fig. 25). It is the sametechnology applied on a larger scale.Cellular Automata and Fractal ImprintingIt may be difficult to understand how a simple periodic interrupt ormodulatory frame pulse can create such dramatic perceptual results,but the periodic interrupt should be thought of as a linear resonantdriver which, over time, generates complex and salient nonlinear waveinterference patterns. This would be a description of a dynamicalinformation processing system generating complexity over time basedon a simple repetitive algorithm, such as a fractal or a cellularautomata. Fractals or cellular automata are perhaps the best visualmetaphors for the spontaneous recursive organization of psychedelicvisual hallucinations, and there is a very fractal or cellular element tothe psychedelic experience which evolves along the flickering pulsationof the hallucinogen’s interrupt. The endless unfolding of the infinitepsychedelic fractal continues until the hallucinogen is metabolized, atwhich point the hallucinogenic interrupt wears off, fades away, and
