Featured were George Montgomery, Ann Rutherford, Lynn Bari, Carole Landis, Mary Beth Hughes, Cesar Romero, Jackie Gleason and Henry Morgan. The Nicholas Brothers were featured in a specialty dance routine during Kalamazoo. Lyrics by Mack Gordon and music by Harry Warren. Pat Friday did the vocal selections for Lynn Bari. Chummy MacGregor plays piano for Cesar Romero, Doc Goldberg plays bass for Jackie Gleason and Johnny Best plays trumpet for George Montgomery.
-427- During this period several numbers were recorded for the film (some were not used), and several issues of the numbers have been made. In all cases (except the theme Moonlight Serenade) there is no evidence of alternate takes being issued as the film numbers are the same versions as the recordings. Several tunes were issued in edited form for promotional discs (eg a 15 minute radio preview 16" transcription was made for Orchestra Wives—TCF-150, and a 12" recording of Kalamazoo—TCF-137 and TCF-138) and some were issued without the dubbed in sounds (such as tap dancing, etc.) that were on the film.
