The long introduction to Serenade in Blue and the Ray
Eberle vocal are not heard in the film version. Kalamazoo
is slightly edited in the film in that some of the music
before and after the vocal is omitted. However, there is a
short drum solo heard on the film version to introduce the
tune that is not on the commercial issues. The TCF-100-2
issue and other British issues do not have the tap dance
vocal and are, therefore, shorter versions. You can hear
Miller counting time on the Victor issues of Kalamazoo just
before the tune gets going.
The release date for Orchestra Wives was September 4, 1942.
