This is the same instrumental version of The Story of a<br />

Starry Night that was played on the December 23, 1941<br />

program.<br />

“Moonlight Serenade, the Glenn Miller broadcast,<br />

winds up its Hollywood stay May 21. Miller takes off for<br />

Chicago for a three-week stand.” (BB, May 23, 1942)<br />

According to GMD the band wound up its work on the 20 th<br />

Century-Fox film “Orchestra Wives” on this date. GMPR<br />

differs slightly in that it states that the band wound up<br />

its work on May 23 rd but the contract between the Miller<br />

Orchestra and 20 th Century-Fox stated that the band would<br />

wind up its work on the film on May 22 nd .<br />
