The band took the <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong>-<strong>New</strong> Haven-Hartford RR from <strong>New</strong><br />

<strong>York</strong> to Boston. (GMPR)<br />

Glenn Miller and His Orchestra played for one week (closed<br />

Thursday, September 17 th ) at the RKO Keith’s Boston Theater,<br />

Boston, Massachusetts (at Washington Street and Essex).<br />

Broadcasts originated from the stage. The band’s gross for<br />

the week was $46,000 and was the high figure for the year.<br />

“There’s nothing to say about this setup except that<br />

it’s terrific, and with weekend prices at 85¢ top (the rule<br />

becoming a captain in the Army (which division manager<br />

Harry MacDonald hasn’t kept a secret) the show will come
