In particular eight GRUND survey(spring-summer 1994-2002), eight MED-ITS surveys (autumn1994-2002) and threePOR surveys (autumn and summer 2004-2005) were analysed [15]. On the whole140 hauls were carried out, between 10m and 800 m of depth, during daylightfrom the dawn to the sunset. All hakecaught were measured to the nearest 0.5cm (TL) and counted. To separate the recruitsfrom the older specimen a cut-off,elaborated for each survey, is used. Onthe basis of swept area, the number of recruits“R” of each haul were transformedinto R per km 2 . The nursery area wereidentified using a GIS approach. Despitethe variability recorded among the differentseason and year, the density of recruitsshowed stable areas characterized byan high concentrations of recruits. Two2076
