As a result ofthese restrictions most of the NTFPs are consumed locally and rarely theseproduces are sold now which once added some livelihood opportunities tothe local tribal <strong>in</strong>habitants. Other agricultural produces such as Sorisha(mustard), Rashi (sesamum) and Sakarkanda (sweet tubers) are also restrictedwith the view that these are cultivated <strong>in</strong> the high lands of the protected area• Interior villages face the problem of transport as the surplus agriculturalproduces are not be<strong>in</strong>g carried to out of the STR boundaries. Carry<strong>in</strong>g ofsurplus agricultural produces are restricted to cycle loads only which limitstheir <strong>in</strong>come opportunities.• The Makdias rehabilitated <strong>in</strong> Durdura village still reta<strong>in</strong> the collection of Sialiclimbers clandest<strong>in</strong>ely <strong>in</strong>to the STR. Adequate movement is however notallowed restrict<strong>in</strong>g their livelihood options. On the other hand, the STRauthorities have not justified with the amount of landhold<strong>in</strong>gs be<strong>in</strong>gprovided to the Makdias for alternative sources of livelihood opportunitiescould have been taken up by these nomadics otherwise. Each household hasbeen assigned with only 4 decimal of landhold<strong>in</strong>gs which is not adequatelyfertile. The Khadia and Makdia development authorities has supplied jutes as109
