It is new category so thesePAs is to be established.Category V: Protected landscapes and seascapesObjectives: To maintain nationally significant natural landscapes that arecharacteristics of harmonious interaction of man and land while providing12
opportunities for public enjoyment through recreation and tourism. These are mixedcultural/natural landscape of high scenic value where traditional land uses aremaintained.GROUP- B (Areas of particular interest to IUCN in general)Category VI: Managed resource Protected AreaObjectives: This a new category designed to include areas that ensure long termprotection and maintenance of biodiversity while providing a sustainable flow ofnatural products and services to meet community needs. They are intended to berelatively large and predominantly unmodified natural systems where traditional andsustainable resources are encouraged.GROUP- C (Internationally recognized/affiliated designations(These categories are international levels, which overlay PAs in the above categories.)Category VII: Biosphere ReservesObjectives: To conserve for present and future use the diversity and integrity ofrepresentative biotic communities of plants and animals within natural ecosystemsand to safeguard the genetic diversity of species on which their continuing evolutiondepends.Category VIII: World Heritage SitesObjectives: To protect the natural features for which the area was considered to be ofworld heritage quality and to provide information for the public Worldwide.The importance and relevance of PA system that encompass a representative habitattypes, conserve key biological resources, and allow for sustainable development13
