Analysis graphXI. CONCLUSIONThus the s<strong>of</strong>tware based multi channel FM reception<strong>of</strong>fers the capability to receive from one up to four FMstations at the same time. One station is streamed live tothe speakers while the rest are stored <strong>in</strong> the disk <strong>in</strong> rawformat. This <strong>of</strong>fers the ability to listen to the recordeddata at a later time thereby prevent<strong>in</strong>g the user frommiss<strong>in</strong>g out on some important <strong>in</strong>formation.Work<strong>in</strong>g with the FM band <strong>of</strong> the radio spectrum is theentrance to the S<strong>of</strong>tware based radio world which iscapable <strong>of</strong> handl<strong>in</strong>g many parts <strong>of</strong> the radio spectrum.This project provided a good practical exposure to theproblems <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> replac<strong>in</strong>g a conventional radio withs<strong>of</strong>tware based one and demonstrated the power andflexibility <strong>of</strong>fered by us<strong>in</strong>g s<strong>of</strong>tware <strong>in</strong> place <strong>of</strong>conventional hardware.This project just touches the tip <strong>of</strong> the iceberg <strong>in</strong> theworld <strong>of</strong> s<strong>of</strong>tware def<strong>in</strong>ed radio, which has tremendouspotential to be unleashed. With the aid <strong>of</strong> technologyadvancement, the s<strong>of</strong>tware based radios will be able toexplore the full radio spectrum very soon <strong>in</strong>to the future.With the move towards process<strong>in</strong>g signal systems <strong>in</strong>digital format comes the problem <strong>of</strong> error detection andcorrection.
