The host can send the <strong>in</strong>vitation <strong>of</strong> the web<strong>in</strong>arevent to <strong>in</strong>tended audience (Student, faculty, etc) throughan email, or post it on organization website or bullet<strong>in</strong>board shar<strong>in</strong>g the l<strong>in</strong>k <strong>in</strong> the <strong>in</strong>vitation mail. On the‘Land<strong>in</strong>g Page’ the logged <strong>in</strong> users can f<strong>in</strong>d detailed<strong>in</strong>formation about the web<strong>in</strong>ar like objective, speakerpr<strong>of</strong>iles, read<strong>in</strong>g materials l<strong>in</strong>ks, etc. For attend<strong>in</strong>g theevent, participants need to register on ‘Registration Page’.Once the registration is complete, participants receivean email detail<strong>in</strong>g the next set <strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong>structions for jo<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>gthe web<strong>in</strong>ar. A rem<strong>in</strong>der mail can also be set for theevent. For the audio <strong>of</strong> the web<strong>in</strong>ar event, participantsneed to use their telephone and a computer for view<strong>in</strong>gthe presentation. After the event the attendee details canbe used for collat<strong>in</strong>g feedback and follow-up.IV. IMPACT OF WEBINAR ON EDUCATION – ACASE STUDY OF INFOSYS CAMPUSCONNECT INITIATVECampus Connect Initiative was launched <strong>in</strong> 2004 ByInfosys <strong>Technologies</strong> Ltd as an <strong>in</strong>dustry- academiapartnership which with the aim <strong>of</strong> enhanc<strong>in</strong>g the qualityand quantity <strong>of</strong> talent pool <strong>in</strong> India.Campus Connect team had a target to reach 500+partner colleges <strong>in</strong> an pr<strong>of</strong>icient and cost effective wayfor shar<strong>in</strong>g technical, s<strong>of</strong>t-skills, and doma<strong>in</strong> knowledge.This required reach<strong>in</strong>g the colleges across tier 2, 3 citiesand deliver sessions which required approximately 5hours <strong>of</strong> travel. Hav<strong>in</strong>g Infosys Subject Matter Experts(SMEs) from various units spend such a large amount <strong>of</strong>time on travel wasn’t a viable approach.Hence, the team decided to use a technology platformcalled <strong>Web</strong><strong>in</strong>ar. To augment the plann<strong>in</strong>g andimplementation <strong>of</strong> web<strong>in</strong>ars a process was put <strong>in</strong> place.The team decided to work with <strong>Web</strong>Ex which is aglobally acclaimed onl<strong>in</strong>e meet<strong>in</strong>g applications ands<strong>of</strong>tware services provider. Once this was zeroed <strong>in</strong>, thenext challenge was to successfully deploy it across all 9Development Centres (DCs) <strong>of</strong> Infosys <strong>in</strong> India. It alsorequired each DC be equipped with the knowledge <strong>of</strong><strong>Web</strong><strong>in</strong>ar – understand<strong>in</strong>g the concept, its set up andconduction.Figure 3. <strong>Web</strong><strong>in</strong>ar PlatformTo provide clarification for all <strong>of</strong> this and to def<strong>in</strong>e aformal process, the team came up with a Field Guide [6]for web<strong>in</strong>ars which served as a s<strong>in</strong>gle po<strong>in</strong>t <strong>of</strong> referencefor the above.The follow<strong>in</strong>g give an idea on the effectiveness and use<strong>of</strong> web<strong>in</strong>ar by the team. [7]A. Stakeholder Feedback1. Faculty feedbackThe web<strong>in</strong>ar efficacy was calculated as part <strong>of</strong> theCampus Connect Perception Measurement survey <strong>in</strong> 306colleges with 521 faculty member responses. The averagerat<strong>in</strong>g turned out to be 3.53 on a scale <strong>of</strong> 1 to 4 (Scale: 1.Strongly disagree 2. Disagree 3. Agree 4. Strongly agree).2. Student feedback –Comprehensive feedback was collected for eachweb<strong>in</strong>ar from the students. It covered feedback forcontent, flow, effective delivery, <strong>in</strong>teraction throughQ&A sessions, etc. Average feedback scores for majorcategories are given <strong>in</strong> the table below. (Scale: 1–Poor, 2-Satisfactory, 3- Good, 4-Very good, 5-Excellent).
