Independent Auditors’ReportTo the Shareholders of INA -Industrija Nafte d.d. ZagrebWe have audited the accompanying consolidated andunconsolidated financial statements of INA - IndustrijaNafte d.d. Zagreb (“the Company”) and its subsidiaries(“the Group”), set out on pages 4 to 110, which comprisethe consolidated and unconsolidated balance sheetsas at 31 December 2007, and the consolidated andunconsolidated income statements, consolidated andunconsolidated statements of changes in equity andconsolidated and unconsolidated cash flow statementsfor the year then ended, and a summary of significantaccounting policies and other explanatory notes.Management’s Responsibilityfor the Financial StatementsManagement is responsible for the preparation and fairpresentation of these financial statements in accordancewith International Financial Reporting Standards. Thisresponsibility includes: designing, implementing andmaintaining internal control relevant to the preparationand fair presentation of financial statements that arefree from material misstatement, whether due to fraudor error; selecting and applying appropriate accountingpolicies; and making accounting estimates that arereasonable in the circumstances.Auditor’s ResponsibilityOur responsibility is to express an opinion on thesefinancial statements based on our audit. We conductedour audit in accordance with International Standards onAuditing. Those standards require that we comply withethical requirements and plan and perform the auditto obtain reasonable assurance whether the financialstatements are free from material misstatement.An audit involves performing procedures to obtain auditevidence about the amounts and disclosures in thefinancial statements. The procedures selected dependon the auditor’s judgment, including the assessmentof the risks of material misstatement of the financialstatements, whether due to fraud or error. In making thoserisk assessments, the auditor considers internal controlrelevant to the Company’s and the Group’s preparationand fair presentation of the financial statements in orderto design audit procedures that are appropriate in thecircumstances, but not for the purpose of expressingan opinion on the effectiveness of the Company’s andthe Group’s internal control. An audit also includesevaluating the appropriateness of accounting policiesused and the reasonableness of accounting estimatesmade by management, as well as evaluating the overallpresentation of the financial statements.We believe that the audit evidence we have obtained issufficient and appropriate to provide a basis for our auditopinion.74 Financial report
