TAKE NOTICE that under Section 5 (1) of the Fire Safety (Commercial Premises)Ordinance the Director of Buildings, being in the opinion that the building, or part of the building at(address of the prescribed commercial premises) is prescribed commercial premises within themeaning of Section 3(2) of the Fire Safety (Commercial Premises) Ordinance does hereby requireyou as the owner of(specify the *unit or part of the prescribed commercial premises), to provide therein the firesafety Construction requirements specified as follows :- ^(specify the fire safety construction requireasents), The period of compliance with this Directionwill expire on __ ^ - ' -2. If you, without reasonable excuse, fait to comply with the requirements of this Directionyou are liable to prosecution for ait offence under Section 5(7)(a) of the Fire Safety (CommercialPremises) Ordinance. Upon conviction, a court may impose a maximum fine of $25,000 and to afurther fine of $2,500 for each d&y or part of a day during which the offence continues. Uponconviction, application may also be made for an order against you under Section 6(1) of the FireSafety (Commercial Premises) Ordinance requiring the provision of the fire safety constructionrequirements in the said prescribed commercial premises.3. Fire Safety (Commercial Premises) Ordinance - Fire Safety Direction Explanatory NotesFire Safety Direction Explanatory NotesThe Fire Safety *Direction / Directions *is / are issued by the *Director ofBuildings *& the Director of Fire Services under section *5(1) *& 5(2) of the FireSafety (Commercial Premises) Ordinance for compliance of fire safety measuresspecified under *Schedule 2 *& Schedule 3 of the Ordinance. * Attached herewithis a plan showing the boundary of the subject prescribed commercial premises foryour information.2. The fire safety measures required to be complied with are specified inparagraph one of the Fire Safety *Direction / Directions. Your attention is drawn tothe time specified for compliance of the Fire Safety Direction.3 . As the compliance of the fire safety measures may involve technicalknowledge, you are advised to seek>the service of an authorized person (namelyarchitect, engineer or surveyor registered under the- Buildings Ordinance) and a FireService Installation Contractor who can advise you farther in this issue. A list ofauthorized persons is available for inspection in the Buildings Department andDistrict Offices. A list of all registered Fire Services Installation Contractors isavailable for inspection in Fire Protection Conamaiicf Headquarters, fire stations andfire protection regional offices.
