3.3 Types ofStatutoryOrders(c)Repair - Order under Section 26 of the <strong>Buildings</strong> OrdinanceIt requires building owners or OC of buildings which are found to bearserious defects likely to cause risk of injury or damage, to carry out therequired repair works and to render the buildings safe.Owners may be required to engage an AP to supervise the remedial worksto the satisfaction of the BD. The time specified in the order for the ownersto comply usually does not exceed 6 months.(d)Dangerous Hillside - Order under Section 27A and Investigationand Repair - Order on Water Pipes, Drains or Sewers Laid inSlopes under Section 27C of the <strong>Buildings</strong> OrdinanceThey are served on building owners or OC when the s opesand retaining walls are dangerous and likely to causerisk of injury or damage to adjoining property; or thedrains or buried pipes behind the slopes or retainingwalls are leaking and may result in landslip orcollapse.The Order may require the owners to carryout investigation and submit remedial proposalsfor approval, and to carry out the remedialworks in a specified period of time. Ownersare always required to engage the serviceof an AP in handling the investigation andremedial works(e)Drainage Repair - Order under Section 28 of the <strong>Buildings</strong> OrdinanceIt requires building owners or OC of buildingswhich are found to bear defective or inadequatedrainage installations, or the drainage systemof which is causing nuisance, to investigateand repair or rectify the situation.The owners may be required to engage anAP to submit remedial proposal and to supervise Jcrtthe remedial works to the satisfaction of theBD.
