Appendix 7 Slopes and Retaining Walls3.2 Frequency of the inspections• Minimum once every 5 years.• More frequent inspections may be recommended by the original designer of the slope inthe Maintenance Manual.• More frequent inspections may be recommended by the engineer commissioned to carryout the previous inspection.• It may also be requested by those who carry out the Routine Maintenance Inspections ona need basis.3.3 Personnel for the inspections• An Engineer Inspection for Maintenance should be carried out by a geotechnical engineerprofessionally qualified in Hong Kong.• A suitable qualification is Registered Professional Engineer (Geotechnical), information onwhich can be obtained from the Engineers Registration Board.
