<strong>General</strong> <strong>Orders</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Turks</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Caicos</strong> Isl<strong>and</strong>s <strong>Public</strong> <strong>Service</strong> - 1998 Edition8.5.3 Leave granted without pay will not count for purposes <strong>of</strong> increment unless it is granted as studyleave or on <strong>the</strong> grounds <strong>of</strong> urgent private affairs.8.5.4 An Officer proceeding on leave or transfer <strong>of</strong> posting who is responsible for cash, stores,furniture, plant or equipment <strong>and</strong> who does not follow <strong>the</strong> h<strong>and</strong>ing over procedure laid down in <strong>the</strong>Financial Instructions will be liable for any deficiency or damage which may subsequently bediscovered, unless he or she can prove that he or she was not at fault.8.5.5 All Officers resuming duty after leave are required to report in writing to <strong>the</strong>ir ResponsibleOfficer <strong>the</strong> date upon which <strong>the</strong>y resumed duty. The Responsible Officer will transmit this informationto <strong>the</strong> Chief Secretary on <strong>the</strong> form given in Appendix E.38
