The <strong>SEAC</strong>considered the submission by the proponent and recommended Environmental Clearance. It isnoted that construction has been started. The same to be brought to the notice <strong>of</strong> SEIAA forappropriate action.Session IIC. Technical Presentations: ­Industry Sector :­1. Proposed expansion <strong>of</strong> existing Water Based Paint Plant by M/s. Berger Paints India Ltd. at Jl.No. – 27, 103, G. T. Road, Vill – Rishra, Dist. ­ Hooghly, Pin – 712248, West Bengal.Activity:This is a proposal for enhancement <strong>of</strong> production capacity <strong>of</strong> Water Based Paint. Existing capacity –Liquid Paints : 1960 kl/month, Thinner : 30 kl/month, PTC : (only solid) : 20 tonnes / month, andPTC (only liquid) : 20 kl / month. Proposed capacity : 6500 kl/month.Chronology <strong>of</strong> the event :WBPCB has already accorded in principle approval for the proposedexpansion project.Salient features <strong>of</strong> the proposed modernization project are :i. Location <strong>of</strong> the Site – Jl. No. – 27, 103, G. T. Road, Vill – Rishra, Dist. ­ Hooghly, Pin – 712248,West Bengal.ii.Area – 22764 sqm. (existing built up area), 2181.44 sqm. (proposed built up area), 42991 sqm.Command area (proposed).iii. Production Capacity – liquid paints – 4470 kl/month i.e. Total production capacity – 6430kl/month.iv. Emission Sources – Existing : Thermic Fluid Heaters – 1x10 lac Kcal/hr. & 2x6 lac Kcal/hr.,Boiler – 1x600 Kg/hr. DG Set – 1x500 KVA. All HSD fired.v. Proposed : DG Set 1x1000 KVA, HSD fired.vi. Air Pollution Control System – Stacks <strong>of</strong> height 12m.vii. Water Requirement – Existing : 107 KLD (Fresh water), After expansion – 131 KLD i.e.additional 24 KLD (recycled from ETP 24 KLD).viii. Wastewater discharge – Existing : 45 KLD.
