The case wasput up for consideration in the 73 rd <strong>SEAC</strong> <strong>meeting</strong> held on 30.11.2012. After carefully consideringthe proposal and presentation, the committee recommended that ­1. Gridded master plan showing proposed as well as existing trees along with list <strong>of</strong> the trees tobe submitted.2. Item wise break up <strong>of</strong> Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan with adequate financialcommitment for improvement <strong>of</strong> neighbourhood area <strong>of</strong> proposed project site should be submitted.Atleast 2% <strong>of</strong> the project cost should be utilised for Corporate Social Responsibilityprogrammes.It has been decided that the case shall be further considered only after submission <strong>of</strong> the necessarydocuments.2. Proposed pilot cum R&D project for production <strong>of</strong> Rectified Spirit and Medical Solvent <strong>of</strong>capacity 25 LPD by M/s. Global Agro Solutions at 209, Picnic Garden Road, Kolkata – 700 039,West Bengal.Activity:This is a proposal for installation <strong>of</strong> a pilot cum R&D project for production <strong>of</strong> rectified spirit &medical solvent <strong>of</strong> capacity­25 LPD from Mahua flower & sweet sorghum. The manufacturingprocess will involve :­1. Cleaning <strong>of</strong> Mahua Flowers2. Grinding (Chopping) <strong>of</strong> Mahua Flowers3. Digestion <strong>of</strong> chopped Mahua with DM water to extract sugar from Mahua in an Autoclave.4. Filtration <strong>of</strong> material digested in the Autoclave by Vacuum Filter.5. Sterilization <strong>of</strong> filtered liquor received from Vacuum Filter.6. Fermentation <strong>of</strong> sterilized liquor7. Rectification / Distillation <strong>of</strong> Fermented liquor8. Dilution <strong>of</strong> Rectified Ethanol to make Doctor’s Spirit.Chronology <strong>of</strong> the event :WBPCB has already accorded in principle approval for the proposed project.Salient features <strong>of</strong> the proposed project are :i. Location <strong>of</strong> the Site – 209, Picnic Garden Road, Kolkata – 700039.ii.Land Area – 374 sq.ft area.iii. Raw Materials – Sweet sorghum­1 TPD, Mahua flower­ 100kg/dayiv. Production Capacity – 25 Litre/dayv. Emission Sources – CO 2 would be liberated from the process <strong>of</strong> fermentation from the top <strong>of</strong> thefermentor and the same would be vented to atmosphere 2.43 kgs/hr.vi.
