<strong>Minutes</strong> <strong>of</strong> the seventy third <strong>meeting</strong> <strong>of</strong> the State Level Expert Appraisal Committee, WestBengal held on 30.11.2012 at 11:00 hrs. at the Conference Room, Paribesh Bhawan, Salt Lake.___________________________________________________________________ii.Land Area – 25 acres (Existing ­12 acres & expansion­13 acres within the existing plant).iii. Greenbelt Development – 33% <strong>of</strong> total land area i.e. 8.25 acres.iv. Raw Materials – Sponge Iron (35 TPH), Pig Iron / Scraps (15 H).v. Additional Production Capacity ­ MS Billets­123000 TPA & TMT bars­ 120000 TPA.vi. Air Pollution Control Device –Fan (60000 Nm 3 /Hr), 2 nos. Spark Arrestor cum CycloneSeparator (60000 Nm 3 /Hr), Bag Filters (60000 Nm 3 /Hr), etc. and stack <strong>of</strong> height 30m from GL.vii. Total Water Requirement – 120 KLD, source : DVC.viii. Effluent – The waste water is treated through ETP and steeling pond with 90% efficiency. Wastewater from cooling process <strong>of</strong> induction furnace will be used in greenbelt development.ix. Solid Waste – Solid waste from APCD will collected and used for landfilling. Slag frominduction furnace will be sold.x. Power Requirement – 22 MVA, DVC. (Existing – 13.5 MVA)xi. Back­up Power – DG Sets (1x750 KVA & 1x500 KVA)After carefully considering the presentation in the 71 st <strong>SEAC</strong> <strong>meeting</strong> held on 24.09.2012, the StateLevel Expert Appraisal Committee (<strong>SEAC</strong>) made the following recommendations. Subsequentresponse submitted on 22.11.2012 from the unit is given below :­Recommendations / Directions <strong>of</strong> theCommittee dated 06.09.20121. The ambient air quality data should bemonitored and results to be submitted.2. Wastewater treatment system for coalwashery to be submitted. The quantity<strong>of</strong> rejects from coal washery used forlandfilling to be specified.3. Detailed calculations and schematics forrainwater harvesting to be submitted.4. The total number <strong>of</strong> trees for existingand as well as proposed project to bementioned.5. Revised CSR programme to besubmitted as discussed in the <strong>meeting</strong>.Response <strong>of</strong> the Proponent submitted on19.11.20121. The proponent has submitted ambient air qualityreport <strong>of</strong> the locality as well as within factorypremises. Ambient air quality report <strong>of</strong> thelocality are within permissible limit, howeverPM 10 & PM 2.5 results inside plant area aremarginally higher than prescribed limit.2. The proponent has withdrawn the proposal forinstallation <strong>of</strong> 0.9 MTPA coal washery.3. The unit has proposed to store 916.24 KLrainwater in 01 no. rain water storage tank <strong>of</strong>capacity­ 15x15x4 m 3 .4. No. <strong>of</strong> existing trees­ 1797 & no. <strong>of</strong> proposedtrees­ 1603 in 33% <strong>of</strong> total land area i,e 8.25acres5. Item wise break up <strong>of</strong> CSR activities with totalbudgetary expenditure <strong>of</strong> Rs 1.4 cr. (2% <strong>of</strong> totalproject cost) has been submitted.The case was put up for consideration in the 73 rd <strong>SEAC</strong> <strong>meeting</strong> held on 30.11.2012.
