This activity may beconducted in lieu of an engine failure during a rejected landing; andv) a rejected take-off from a speed not less than 90% of the calculatedVI or as appropriate to the aeroplane type.d) Instrument Procedures:Instrument procedures shall consist of IFR pre-flight preparations,terminal and en-route procedures, arrival and departure procedures,system malfunctions and where applicable, the proper programming anduse of Flight Management Systems (FMS), (as applicable).i) An area departure and an area arrival procedure shall beperformed to assess whether the crew:(A) adheres to air traffic control clearances andinstructions; and(B) properly uses the available navigation equipment andfacilities;ii) a holding procedure;1 st Edition Page 56 of 80 June, 2009iii) at least two instrument approaches performed in accordance withprocedures and limitations in the Aeronautical Information Publication(AIP) or in the equivalent foreign publication, or approved companyapproach procedure for the facility used. One of the approaches shallbe a precision approach, and one a non-precision approach;iv) one approach and manoeuvre to land using a scene approved forcircling where the air operator is authorized for approaches at thepublished circling minima, and is required during initial qualificationcheck and annually thereafter.e) Manoeuvresi) At least one steep turn in each direction with a bank angle of 45º anda change in heading of at least 180º but not morethan 360º.ii) Approaches to stalls
