February 6, 2007To:Mr. Randall Thompson P.E.From: Dennis Fields, Cascade Water AllianceCc:Re:PlanMike Brent, Cascade Water AllianceCascade Water Alliance – Review of the City of Bellevue Draft Water SupplyBelow are Cascade’s comments on the Draft City of Bellevue water Supply Plan.Water Demand and SupplyThe Draft City of Bellevue water Supply Plan is consistent with the CascadeTransmission and Supply Plan.ConservationPage 5-5, Table 5-2, the table is structured along DOH’s guidelines, but it couldinclude a line to indicate our public education via mass media (theater and busadvertisements). The table could also state that dye tablets, low-flow showerheadsand aerators are offered to commercial and multifamily accounts as requested. Line5 from the bottom references residential toilet rebates. This should be clarified toindicate that the rebates are for multi-family and commercial accounts and that freetoilets are also offered.Page 5 – 7, paragraph 6 discusses the Water Use it Wisely campaign and the WaterConservation Coalition. This is no longer relevant.Page 5 – 19 and Table 5 – 6 discuss the long range conservation program. The textis fine, but the dates should be changed to 2008 – 2013 as that is the planningperiod.
