raw materials prices is the value of the US dollar since<br />
a weaker euro affects increases in raw materials prices<br />
which, as a rule, are listed in US dollars.<br />
Forecasted price movements of raw materials will<br />
further reduce pressure on production costs and bring<br />
the effects of raw materials closer to the previous<br />
year’s level. The positive effect on the major performance<br />
ratios will also be supported by favourable<br />
leases of metals and sheet metal for the major portion<br />
of annual requirements.<br />

Trends in the Line of Business<br />
In 2011 Turkish and Asian producers<br />
increased their market shares most<br />
in the segment of household appliances<br />
since they are aggressive with<br />
their prices and innovative products.<br />
In 2011, the value of sales of household appliances<br />
increased by over 2 percent. Growth was the strongest<br />
in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Turkey, and also in<br />
Central and Eastern Europe. The household appliances<br />
market dropped the most in the PIIGS countries (Portugal,<br />
Ireland, Italy, Greece, Spain) and the countries<br />
of the former Yugoslavia. Germany is still the largest<br />
European market for the sale of household appliances,<br />
but the market in Russia is growing the fastest. Russia<br />

has become the fourth largest European market for<br />
the sale of household appliances. In terms of sales<br />
channels, Internet sales of household appliances have<br />
gained importance and account for over 11 percent of<br />
total sales. Internet sales have increased in all regions,<br />
including Russia. In 2011, Turkish and Asian producers<br />
increased their market shares the most in the segment<br />
of household appliances since they are more aggressive<br />
in terms of pricing and product innovation.<br />
The main trend in the field of household appliances<br />
is energy efficiency, with its significance increasing as<br />
a result of a new energy label. In addition to energyefficient<br />
appliances, the growing segments are also<br />
washers with a wash load capacity of up to 7 kg or<br />
more, dishwashers with water consumption of 12 litres<br />
or less, NoFrost combined refrigerators with a bottom<br />
freezer, pyrolytic ovens and induction hobs.<br />
