Evaluation of water supply system – Case study in Naka, Nigeria8 Recommendations8.1 Concerning the research projectLooking at the short stay on-site for collecting data, it could be worth clearly definingthe purpose of the research with PAWS prior to the field work.8.2 Concerning the water projectBefore being handed over to the WCA, the water supply infrastructure must be fullyfunctional at the designed rate in a sustainable way. To meet these targets, thefollowings issues should be addressed simultaneously:1. restore the technical capacity and focus on water quality monitoring2. organise a strong institutional framework to support WCA3. focus on community education and mobilisation, especially women andminorities8.3 Further research for the community benefitsConsidering the potential of rain water harvesting during the rainy season, furtherresearch should be carried out on rainwater harvesting systems and management forinstitutions like schools and clinics.
