Rieter’s textile activities have had their headquarters
in Switzerland since 1795. And ever since that
time Rieter has been committed to customer satisfaction
and product quality.
ISO-certified manufacturing facilities worldwide
Over the course of time additional manufacturing
facilities and assembly lines have been established
in Germany, the USA, the Czech Republic, India
and China. The Rieter production plant in the Czech
Republic has been operating successfully since
1994, the branch in China since 2001 and the unit in
India since 2005, to the complete satisfaction of our
customers. As an integral part of our quality strategy,
all our manufacturing sites are certified for compliance
with ISO 9001.
Key components and technology elements are developed
and produced in Europe. We have already relocated
many labor-intensive operations to markets
outside Europe without any loss of quality for many
years. "Made by Rieter" stands for quality, no matter
where the individual components are manufactured
and assembled.
Central functions are based in Europe
Rieter’s competence network is international in
scope. Headquarters in Winterthur are of central importance;
this is where all global activities are coordinated:
marketing, sales, product development,
production planning, quality assurance, logistics,
spare parts offerings, service and technology support.
The further development of products will also remain
the responsibility of specialists in Europe in future.
Nowadays, however, there is greater emphasis
on global cooperation with technical colleagues in
China and India, and a closer focus on local customer
and procurement markets. Production planning is
centralized in Winterthur and quality specifications
are defined in conformity with Swiss and German
standards and implemented in Rieter’s own production
plants. All Rieter machines are manufactured in
conformity with these specifications worldwide. Our

EDITORIAL
In addition to this centralized control of global operations,
we attach great importance to local contacts
for our customers in the marketplace and to the
fact that they receive optimal support in sales, spare
parts offerings and service. True to the motto: “Think
global, act local.”
Customer satisfaction is top of the list
Our main goal is to ensure customer satisfaction.
Our objectives are: comprehensive support for our
customers by our sales organization, complete and
timely delivery and installation of machinery and
retrofits, rapid spare parts and repair service, expert
technology support, economical yarn production and
the sustained quality of our products. We conduct
regular surveys to measure whether we achieve these
goals in our customers’ eyes. In this way we ensure
that deviations from our standard are detected and
quickly rectified. You can read more about Rieter’s

Ecological aspects of spinning operations
Ecology and economy go hand-in-hand. Saving resources
in every industrial process helps to conserve
the world’s environment and reduce costs. Rieter’s
developments have focused for many years on energy
savings and high fiber utilization. Two reports on
experience by customers in India show how resources
can be saved in both ring spinning and rotor
spinning. Rieter offers conversion kits and professional
overhauls in order to prolong the service lives
of older machine generations and maintain efficiency
at a high level.
Rieter will and must continue to change in future.
We will continuously adapt our organization and our
