Level I is at Bachelorlevel, Level II is an Engineering <strong>and</strong> Ph.D course <strong>and</strong> Level III relates to the fields ofproduction quality, <strong>safety</strong> of technical systems (STS) <strong>and</strong> OSH. The Departmentalso offers subjects which are included in the study programme of the Faculty ofMetallurgy.The study programme takes <strong>into</strong> account the Slovak Republic’s legislation <strong>and</strong> the EUOSH Directives <strong>and</strong> their process of harmonisation. Substantial attention is paid to theprocess of risk assessment <strong>and</strong> its specific tools.Course work for students includes solving concrete problems in existing plants ororganisations (for example, hotel services, <strong>health</strong> centres). Students who completethis field at Bachelor-level (BSc), or as certified engineers (Dipl-Ing), or at Ph.D level arethen qualified to work as <strong>safety</strong> technicians according to OSH legal requirements.116
