Both websites provide ready-to-use information that can beapplied directly by teaching staff at universities. NOP-online provides good practiceinstructions on safety and environmental issues in organic chemistry laboratorycourses. KMR provides health and safety instruction for working with carcinogenic, mutagenic and reproduction toxic substances.Integral II, GermanyThe Institute of Industrial Engineering and Ergonomics (IAW) of the RWTH Aachencoordinated the development of an on-line learning platform concerning industrialengineering and ergonomics, which includes various OSH-related modules. Theseare suitable for e-learning, blended learning and teaching at universities. Currentlythe modules are being used in undergraduate lectures for students of mechanicalengineering, industrial engineering, psychology, business administration andindustrial education.Introduction to the principles of laboratory safety – preventionand emergency response – handling biological and radioactivesubstances, AustriaAt the beginning of their studies, students at the University of Vienna have thepossibility of deepening their knowledge regarding the principles of laboratorysafety, prevention and emergency response and handling biological and radioactivesubstances. The primary objective of the seminars is to raise the students’ awarenessof the fact that safety and health protection (occupational safety) is an integral partof any research project and that these issues may take on even greater significancewhen students finish their studies, for instance in their possible future occupationas company safety inspectors.
