VitaFakhrul Alam was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh on April 18, 1972. He received his B.Sc.Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University <strong>of</strong> Engineeringand <strong>Tech</strong>nology (BUET). He worked as a lecturer in the EEE Department <strong>of</strong> his alma materfor a year. He started in the M.S. program at <strong>Virginia</strong> <strong>Tech</strong> from the fall <strong>of</strong> 97 and joinedMPRG in the fall <strong>of</strong> 98.His research interests include Adaptive Receivers for Narrow andWide Band Modulation Schemes, Space-Time Coding and Wideband <strong>CDMA</strong> <strong>Systems</strong>. Hewill continue as a Ph.D. student with Dr. Brian D. Woerner from spring <strong>of</strong> 2000.75
