Ebensee is Traunsee’s hiking paradise. You can enjoy over
200 km of hiking and walking trails and around 17,000 metres
difference in altitude to mountain peaks, with fabulous views
and hospitable shelters amid pristine nature.
Two climbing routes (B/C) in the Totes and Höllengebirge
mountains ensure a special landscape experience with
magnificent views. Eight Places of Happiness invite you to
linger and revitalise. We would be glad to update you on tours
and tour guides. Maps and hiking tips are also available in our
tourist office.
cycling and mountain biking
There are beautiful cycling tours on paved paths from Ebensee
along Traunsee Lake, on the cycling track to Bad Ischl or in the
immediate Salzkammergut area. We particularly r ecommend
the routes to the romantic Langbathseen Lake areas and
to Offensee Lake. You can take your bicycle as needed on
Traunseeschifffahrt boats. E-bikes are available to hire in the
Traunsee Holiday Region Guest Centre. Off the classic routes
there are around 150 km of mountain bike routes of various
levels of difficulty to stir the hearts of an adventurous cyclist.
The 5.6 km Feuerkogel downhill route also provides pure
action. There are fabulous nature experiences and vistas as an
additional reward. Pleasure cycling – that’s the order of the day
in Ebensee and Traunsee Holiday Region.

Families are warmly welcome to Ebensee. We have a lot
going on: Ebensee holiday pass, the children’s programme
around Traunsee Lake in July and August, horseback riding for
children, a visit to the “Gassel-Tropfsteinhöhle” stalactite cave for
explorers, boat tours on Traunsee Lake, bathing fun in the indoor
pool and much more.

Ebensee Public Indoor Swimming Pool

The Ebensee public indoor swimming pool is an ideal complement to a rejuvenating
and diverse holiday. The warm water (approx. 30° C) contains nearly no
additives. In addition to the family pool (8 x 20m) there is a separate kiddie pool,
sauna and solarium, saline bath, aroma chamber and infrared heat cabin.
Indoor swimming pool opening hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 2 – 8:30 pm
Saturday, Sunday, holiday 2 – 8:30 pm
Closed Thursdays
Sauna opening times:
During indoor pool opening hours from 2 – 8:30 pm.
Precise times for men’s, women’s and unisex sauna on request. During Upper
Austrian holidays unisex sauna only.
The sauna world consists of two sauna cabinets, a lounge and a fresh air room,
a large quiet room, cold-water pool, saline bath and aroma chamber. Please note:
Closed several weeks in July/August for annual maintenance (schedule on request).
