Part B — Acquisition Functions 183Event ToolbarThe event toolbar displays global events and provides a quick editing area for event descriptions. The rightbutton toggles visibility of the Event Palette for detailed control (see page 186). The palette will “refresh”when events change the event configuration, such as horizontal scrolling, scale changes, changes in theselected event via clicking in the graph window, editing of the event label by using the event bar, transformations that define new events for the graph, waveform editing operations, and additions of newevents by clicking the event bar at the top of the graph window.Event TooltipsIf events are being displayed within the plotting area and tooltips are enabled, a tooltip will be associated withevery event in the plotting area. The tooltip includes the event type description, the user-defined label (ifpresent), the time location of the event, and the amplitude of the waveform at the event location. While thisinformation can be drawn directly on the graph, event tooltips assist in browsing event information when thescreen becomes too crowded and there is not enough room to display all of the times, amplitudes, and labels.Event tooltips are displayed under the event icon.• If the event is being plotted directly on the waveform, this will be the point on the waveformassociated with the event.• If there is an indicator and the event icon is at the top of the indicator, the tooltip will be anchored atthe top of the indicator.• If the events are being plotted at the top of each track, the tooltip is anchored at the top of the plottingarea directly underneath the event icon.Event tooltips will not be displayed if tooltips are disabled, if events are only being displayed in the event barat the top of the screen, if X/Y mode is in use, or if events are not currently visible.BSL PRO Manual
