Part A — Getting Started 47Exporting data to a text file allows you to examine the data using other programs, such as a spreadsheet orstatistical analysis package. Saving data as a graphic (.JPG) enables you to work with the data in graphic format.One of the most useful applications of this is the ability to edit and place <strong>BSL</strong> <strong>PRO</strong> data as it appears on thescreen. You can use this feature to paste graphs into word processors, drawing programs, and page layoutprograms. To learn more about these options, turn to the Save As section beginning on page 218.Format change warningsWhen a file save function requires a format change for compatibility or alters file content, a prompt will begenerated to require the user to confirm the option to update format or convert and save.Created with a previous version of <strong>BSL</strong> <strong>PRO</strong>Saving as a “Graph Template” will erase all dataPrint<strong>BSL</strong> <strong>PRO</strong> allows you to produce high-resolution hard copyplots of graphs much as they appear on-screen. To print a file, choose Print from the File menu. Thiswill print the contents of the screen on the selectedprinter. To print the entire file, choose Autoscale Horizontalfrom the Display menu first. You must print a journal as a separate command fromprint graph file.You may instruct <strong>BSL</strong> <strong>PRO</strong> to print the contents of a fileacross several pages by entering a value in the Fit to box.Entering “4” in this box, for instance, will place the lengthof the page evenly across four pages when printing.Print options are available after you click OK in the initialFile > Print dialog; see page 226.<strong>BSL</strong> <strong>PRO</strong> <strong>Manual</strong>
