14 Changing the batteries14 Changing the batteriesThis message appears when the batteries are almostempty. It appears every time you turn the meter offuntil you change the batteries. The first time the messageappears, you can still perform about 50 tests.However, we recommend that you replace the batteriesas soon as possible. By then the batteries will havebeen heavily drained and changeable conditions (e.g.cold outside temperatures) can affect their performanceeven further.you need 2 alkaline-manganese or high-energy batteriestype AAA, LR 03, AM4 or micro (1.5 V). Alwaysreplace both batteries at the same time.do not use rechargeable batteries as these have aconsiderably shorter life than normal batteries.With a new set of batteries, you can perform at least500 tests or test for about 1 year.212
