Testing and storage conditions 1515Testing and storage conditionsMake sure that the conditions listed on the followingpages are met, so that the meter and lancing devicework reliably and you obtain accurate results.15.1 Temperature and humidity Without batteries and without a test cassette, themeter should be stored at between -25 and +70 °C. With batteries and without a test cassette, themeter should be stored at between -10 and +50 °C.At temperatures above +50 °C, the batteriescould leak and damage the meter. At temperatures below -10 °C, the batteriesdo not have enough power to keep theinternal clock functioning. With batteries and with a test cassette, the metershould be stored at between +2 and +30 °C. Store the meter in a place with a relative humiditybetween 15 and 93 %. The temperature and humidity conditions underwhich the meter can operate are +10 to 32 °C at15 to 85 % relative humidity, including the followingexteme conditions: +32 °C at 85 % relative humidityand +40 °C at 45 % relative humidity.Sudden changes in temperature can causecondensation to form in or on the meter. If thishappens, do not turn the meter on. Make surethat it returns to ambient temperature slowly.Never store the meter in a room that is likely toharbour condensation (e.g. bathroom). If the temperature is between +8 and +10 °C orbetween +40 and +42 °C, the meter will still allowyou to perform a test. However, the following warningwill appear (see also Chapter 16.2).217
