15Testing and storage conditionsdo not use blood glucose results obtainedfollowing these warnings as a basis for makingtherapeutic decisions. These results maybe incorrect. Incorrect results can cause thewrong therapy recommendation to be madeand thus produce serious adverse healtheffects. Tests cannot be performed at temperatures below+8 °C and above +42 °C. In this event, the followingerror message appears:do not store the lancing device in a primed state anddo not store it for any length of time in a placewhere the temperature is very low or high, e.g. in ahot car. This can cause parts of the lancing device tobecome warped, so impairing its operation.Never try to speed up the cooling or warmingof your meter, e.g. by placing it in the refrigeratoror on a radiator. doing so can damagethe meter and cause it to deliver incorrectresults. Incorrect results can cause the wrongtherapy recommendation to be made andthus produce serious adverse health effects.218
