Chapter 7: The MIXER/EFFECTS KeyThe Individual Outputs/Effects MixerIn addition to the stereo outputs, the <strong>MPC</strong><strong>3000</strong> provides eightindividual mix outputs and an internal effects generator. The mixerdescribed in this chapter allows each of the sounds to be assigned toone of the eight assignable mix outputs or to the internal effectsgenerator. The level of this assignment is controllable independentlyof the stereo mix level.To access the Individual Outputs/Effects Mixer screen, press theMIXER/EFFECTS key, then select option 2. The following screenwill appear:Similar to the Stereo Mix screen, this screen presents a graphicsimulation of a multi-channel mixer, showing a simulated volumeslider and an output assignment for each of the 16 pads in pad bankA (A01-A16). To view other pad banks, press the PAD BANK key.To adjust the volume level of the individual outputs or effects for aparticular sound:1. Press the pad for the sound that you want to adjust; the smalltriangle on the screen will move directly above the number of theselected pad.2. Rotate the data entry control. As you turn it, the graphic volumeslider will move up or down, indicating that the volume of theselected sound at the individual outputs (or at the effects generatorinput) is being changed. The graphic volume slider can bethought of as an auxiliary or effects send on a hardware mixingboard.To change the assignment to the individual outputs or effects for aparticular sound:1. Press the pad for the sound that you want to adjust; the smalltriangle on the screen will move directly above the number of theselected pad;2. Press the CURSOR UP key. The small triangle will now pointupwards, toward the number (or E for effects) indicating thecurrent output assignment.Page 136
