All workstation operators shall be alerted of <strong>the</strong> transition to <strong>the</strong> standby power supply andshall be alerted of <strong>the</strong> failure of <strong>the</strong> hot standby power supply when <strong>the</strong> primary power supplyis in use.Instant Recall Recorder (IRR)Contractor shall supply a GUI-based IRR to support all radio communications audio at eachoperator position. Both transmit and receive audio shall be recorded <strong>for</strong> instant recall. This maybe integral to <strong>the</strong> dispatch workstation application software.PTT ID/Emergency DisplayA. The workstation shall be equipped to display <strong>the</strong> PTT ID and emergency PTT ID of allproperly equipped mobile and portable radio units.B. All operator positions shall be equipped to display <strong>the</strong> IDs on <strong>the</strong> display screen.C. The screen shall be equipped to display <strong>the</strong> ID with numeric, alphanumeric or a combinationof numeric and alphanumeric characters.Logging Recorder InterfaceA. The common-workstation electronics equipment shall provide multiple independent audiooutputs suitable <strong>for</strong> connection to an existing logging recorder.B. The outputs shall supply audio from all conventional radio channels controlled by <strong>the</strong>workstation to <strong>the</strong> logging recorder. A common transmit and receive audio source shall beprovided.C. The common-workstation electronics equipment audio outputs shall filter guard and functiontones associated with tone remote controlled conventional base stations.D. The successful contractor shall furnish and install all audio couplers, impedance matchingdevices, signal level boosters, cabling and connectors as necessary <strong>for</strong> a complete and fullyfunctional interface between <strong>the</strong> common-workstation electronics equipment and <strong>the</strong> loggingrecorder.City of San Luis Obispo 42 Radio System Upgrade TECHNICAL APPENDIX
