<strong>TEXANS</strong> ON THE AIRMARC VANDERMEER @TexansVoiceDIRECTOR OF BROADCASTINGPLAY-BY-PLAY VOICEMarc Vandermeer (@TexansVoice)joined the Texans staff as Directorof Radio Broadcasting in June <strong>2012</strong>but has been a team fi xture since it began play 10 yearsago. Vandermeer has called every snap the HoustonTexans have ever taken as the team’s play-by-play announcerand served as a co-host of the morning driveshow for fl agship station KILT SportsRadio 610 AM untilMay <strong>2012</strong>.In his current role, Vandermeer continues to serveas the “Voice of the Texans” and oversees all aspectsof production for Texans All-Access programming onSportsRadio 610 AM. Since the Texans began play,Vandermeer is one of only four current team employeesto attend every single game, joining Special TeamsCoordinator Joe Marciano, Running Backs Coach ChickHarris and Director of Equipment Services Jay Brunetti.Vandermeer came to the Texans following a successfulthree-year run as the play-by-play voice for theMiami Hurricanes on 560 WQAM. He called the actionfor the Hurricanes’ football and baseball national championshipteams in 2001, hosted the athletic program’sweekly show, Hurricane Hotline, and fi lled in on theWQAM Morning Show.From 1995-99, Vandermeer was the play-by-playvoice for the UMass Minutemen and served as theUMass Radio Network Director for WHMP AM/FM. Hewas promoted to station manager his fi nal year withWHMP.Vandermeer has also called NCAA Basketball Tournamentgames for Westwood One Radio and was theplay-by-play voice for Central Michigan University from1992-95. He also serves on the Junior AchievementBoard of Directors.The Boston University alumnus is married to his wife,Corinne, and has a 6-year old son, Luke. He enjoysplaying basketball, golfi ng and sailing in his spare timeand is an avid guitar player.DREW DOUGHERTY @DoughertyDrewMULTI<strong>MEDIA</strong> SPECIALISTHOST, <strong>TEXANS</strong> TVDrew Dougherty (@Dougherty-Drew) is the host of Texans TV andthe team’s multimedia specialist. Heis the on-air talent for the video on the team’s website,interviews players and coaches, and also co-hosts theTexans Today podcast with Nick Scurfi eld.On Tuesdays from noon to 2 p.m. CST, you can hearhim contributing to “Texans All Access” on SportsRadio610. Dougherty is one of the producers of the wildlypopular “On the Nose with Shaun Cody” segment,which can be seen weekly on Tuesdays on HoustonTexans.<strong>com</strong>.In addition to his duties in front of the camerain English, Dougherty also hosts a weekly segment inSpanish called “Puntos Extra” with color-<strong>com</strong>mentatorEnrique Vasquez. Dougherty has been with the Texanssince August of 2009.From 2005 to 2009, Dougherty was the sports directorat FOX34 and Telemundo46 in Lubbock. He was oneof just a handful of journalists nationwide who broadcastedin both English and Spanish on a daily basis. Healso hosted a few weekly coaches shows for the TexasTech football, baseball and women’s basketball teams,including Red Raider Sports with Mike Leach. Doughertyhandled the TV play-by-play duties when the LadyRaiders and the baseball team were on the air, and healso was the play-by-play voice for the Tech Red vs.Black spring football games, as well as the ASCO WestTexas High School Football All Star games each June.Dougherty’s start in television began at Texas CableNews in Dallas. During his four years at TXCN, he producedFord Sports Talk and Cadillac’s Texas Legendsin Sports. The latter show featured in-depth profi les ofBum Phillips, Darrell Royal, Ty Murray, Mary Lou Retton,Nolan Ryan and Don Meredith, to name a few.
