Denver fi nished2005 with a 13-3 record, winning their division for thefi rst time since 1998, the last time they appeared in theSuper Bowl.In his 11 years as offensive coordinator, Kubiak’s Broncosamassed 66,501 total yards and 465 touchdowns,most in the <strong>NFL</strong> in that span. He coached 14 differentBroncos who made the Pro Bowl and Denver’s rushingattack totaled 25,022 yards, most in the <strong>NFL</strong>, during histenure.KUBIAK OFF THE FIELDKubiak has been active in his support of U.S. militaryservices for a number of years. For the past sevenyears, Kubiak has served as the celebrity spokespersonfor Impact A Hero, a non-profi t organization that providesa means to provide emotional and fi nancial supportfor severely wounded and disabled War on Terrorveterans and their families. He participated in the EighthAnnual Impact A Hero 5k Run, Walk and Wheel on June2, <strong>2012</strong>. In June 2011, he embarked on his fi rst USOTour to the Middle East.In addition to his individual efforts, Kubiak has alsosupported U.S. military services with the Texans. Forthe last two years, the Texans and Kubiak have hostedmore than 150 guests from all fi ve branches of themilitary at practice during Salute To The Military Week,among other events. Salute To The Military Week hasculminated with hundreds of servicemen and women attendinga Texans game at which they are recognized.In 2010, the Texans defeated Kansas City, 35-31; andHouston topped Cleveland last year, 30-12.Kubiak returned to his roots when he took the reins ashead coach of the Texans. He starred at Houston’s St.Pius High School, where he was an all-state selection,passing for 6,190 yards during his high school career.He was inducted into the Texas High School Hall ofFame in 1999.Kubiak attended Texas A&M, where he was selectedAll-Southwest Conference in 1982. He led the conferencein attempts (324), <strong>com</strong>pletions (181), percentage(55.9) yardage (1,948), touchdowns (19), and totaloffense (1,885) as a senior. He set the SWC passingtouchdown record with six against Rice during his juniorseason. He earned his degree in physical education beforebeing drafted by the Broncos in the eighth round(197th overall) in the 1983 draft.Kubiak, born in Houston, is married to Rhonda. Thecouple has three sons: Klint, Klay, and Klein.
