COACHING STAFFMARC LUBICKASSISTANT WIDE RECEIVERSTHIRD SEASON WITH <strong>TEXANS</strong>/FIFTH <strong>NFL</strong> SEASONMarc Lubick is in his third seasonwith the Houston Texans and fi rstas assistant wide receivers coach.Lubick joined the Texans as an offensive assistant onFeb. 11, 2010 and was promoted to his current positionon Feb. 14, <strong>2012</strong>.The Texans offense set a franchise record for total offensein 2010, as well as franchise rushing records in2010 and 2011 with Lubick on staff. Entering the <strong>2012</strong>season, Houston ranks fourth in the <strong>NFL</strong> with 140.3rushing yards per game, is tied for the <strong>NFL</strong> lead with 38<strong>com</strong>bined rushing touchdowns and set franchise rushingrecords in consecutive years in Lubick’s fi rst twoseasons working with the offense.The 2011 Texans set franchise records with 2,448rushing yards (153.0 per game) and 546 rushing attemptsto rank second in the <strong>NFL</strong>; and excelled in thepostseason, averaging 159.5 rushing yards per gamein helping the Texans reach the Divisional round of theplayoffs. In 2010, Houston set franchise records with390 points scored, 6,186 total yards of offense (386.6per game) and 2,042 yards rushing (127.6 yards pergame).Lubick, 34, has 11 seasons of coaching experience,including eight seasons at Colorado State, where heserved as the tight ends coach and recruiting coordinatorfrom 2008-09 prior to joining the Texans. He wasnamed to Rams head coach Steve Fairchild’s staff onDec. 12, 2007 after coaching CSU’s wide receivers from2005-07. During that time, he coached former Texanswide receiver David Anderson, a seventh-round draftpick in 2006, along with 2007 <strong>NFL</strong> free agent signeeDustin Osborn.A former college safety, Lubick launched his coachingcareer in 2000 as a defensive student assistant at CSU.During the 2002 season, Lubick was an academic graduateassistant coach at CSU, working with the team’swide receivers.Lubick then worked in the <strong>NFL</strong> with Fairchild on MikeMartz’s St. Louis Rams staff as a scouting assistant fortwo seasons (2003-04) before returning to CSU in thespring of 2005.A defensive back at Montana State from 1996-99,Lubick earned academic all-conference honors threetimes.Lubick’s father, Sonny, is considered the most successfulhead football coach in CSU history, and in additionto working at Miami (Fla.), also served as an assistantat Stanford, Colorado State and Montana State.He was also the head coach at Montana State from1978-81.
