Galathea. from 1950 to 1952,a group of scientists, including Drs. TOR BEN WOLFF and KAJ BIRKET-SMITH and Mr.HARRY KNUDSEN, spent one month on Rennell Island in the British Solomons.Among the general zoological material obtained was a small collection of 118 speciesof marine mollusca collected at six shore stations. Nearly all of the species are commonforms found over most of the Indo-Pacific area. so that no conclusions can beMade as to the relationship of the Rennell marine fauna. other than to state that itis similar to that of other nearby Melanesian islands. One rare species (Emargil1ulac1athrata Pease) and one uncommon species (Cypraea aurantium Gmelin) wereobtained.
