26 THE END IS THE BEGINNINGhumans can die. Intellectually, angels and mankindonly can know, or understand what God reveals, orwants them to know. Even the angels did not knowwho, or when, The Messiah would come (I Peter 1:9-12). Humans and angels are limited, intellectually, tounderstand prophecy. They can, only, comprehendwhat God wants them to know by revealing their faithin Him. Angels are being tested just as mankind istested.Job had to be tested by God when He allowed Satan toafflict him. Job could not understand how God wouldallow him to be punished so severely, when he did notdeserve it. Job did not know how important faith andcomplete trust in God was. Job, Adam and Eve hadanother “god” instead of their Father, Almighty God.Eve allowed herself to be deceived by Satan becauseshe desired “the fruit of self-interest” to overcome heroriginal belief in her Father. She was like a teenagerbelieving she could decide what was good on her own,regardless of what her Father told her. She wanted todecide good and evil for herself. Adam knew better,but ate the fruit knowing he would die because he didnot want to live without Eve. Adam was a figure ofChrist dying for his wife (Romans 5). Adam preferredEve over God.
