This package is expected to include (subject to definition):Major Scheme(DfT) /DevelopersDevelopersThis proposed scheme would involve changes tothe functionality of the Redditch Inner RingRoad, as identified in the Redditch Town CentreStrategy. The scheme will enhance theattractiveness of Redditch Town Centre andimprove accessibility from the surroundingresidential areas. This scheme is intended tosupport the expansion and development of thetown centre. The scheme would need to beintegrated with the other Redditch schemes tooptimise the potential benefits.This proposed scheme would involve theconstruction of a bypass around the hamlet ofBordesley, from south of Alvechurch toRedditch, completing the all-purpose dualcarriageway road (A441) between Redditch andM42 Junction 2. As Redditch already benefitsfrom dual carriageway access to the M42,further evidence would be required to confirmthe scale of the additional journey time andreliability benefits and hence the extent towhich this scheme would support the localeconomy and environment.
