This is also where rare species such as the giantpanda, red panda, Chinese giant salamander, Asian small-clawed otter, the Chinesealligator, and unique varieties of gold fish, reside. In fact, these iconic animals werefeatured in our television advertisement which played to an all-time local favoritetune, “Kowloon, Hong Kong” accompanied by “Wow! It’s My Park!” The campaigndrew a fabulous response from the public, especially the local community.Amazing Asian Animals also featured the Park’s premier retail and F&Bfacilities – Panda Kingdom Shop and Panda Café. The new facility also hastwo classrooms overlooking one of the panda habitats, allowing us to takeinteractive learning to a whole new, close-range, level. To underline theeducational significance of this new attraction area, nearly 50,000 primaryschool students across Hong Kong celebrated the opening with us by submittingtens of thousands of remarkable art works as part of the Amazing Asian AnimalsCreative Teaching Materials Contest.「 亞 洲 動 物 天 地 」 是 一 個 集 合 八 個 景 點 的 主 題 區 , 其 中包 括 最 受 矚 目 的 「 大 熊 貓 之 旅 」, 其 特 色 的 半 圓 天 幕 更是 採 用 ETFE( 乙 烯 一 四 氟 乙 烯 聚 合 物 ) 物 料 建 造 。 景 點 飼養 了 各 種 稀 有 的 動 物 品 種 , 包 括 大 熊 貓 、 小 熊 貓 、 大 鯢( 娃 娃 魚 )、 亞 洲 小 爪 水 瀨 、 揚 子 鱷 , 以 及 各 種 各 樣 的 金魚 。 這 些 動 物 肖 像 也 在 我 們 的 電 視 宣 傳 廣 告 中 亮 相 , 唱出 大 家 熟 悉 的 《Kowloon Hong Kong》 以 及 在 結 尾 高 呼「Wow! It’s My Park!」, 廣 告 播 出 後 獲 得 各 方 好 評 , 更大 受 本 港 市 民 歡 迎 。除 動 物 景 點 外 ,「 亞 洲 動 物 天 地 」 亦 設 有 大 型 的 零 售 及餐 飲 區 , 分 別 為 「 熊 貓 禮 品 店 」 和 「 大 熊 貓 餐 廳 」。 此 外還 有 兩 個 可 觀 看 大 熊 貓 生 活 區 的 課 室 , 讓 年 青 學 員 能 夠以 近 距 離 的 角 度 觀 察 大 熊 貓 生 態 。 為 迎 接 「 亞 洲 動 作 天地 」 之 開 幕 , 全 港 更 有 五 萬 名 小 學 生 參 加 了 「 亞 洲 動 物保 育 教 材 創 作 比 賽 」, 提 交 了 數 以 萬 計 的 出 色 作 品 , 突 顯了 「 亞 洲 動 物 天 地 」 的 教 育 意 義 。Pandas Bring Fundraising Relief to SichuanOur animal ambassadors – Ying Ying and Le Le – turned three in August and wecelebrated their birthdays in style. With the Sichuan Earthquake in May 2008still etched in our memories, we continued efforts to focus guest attention andempathy to support the Giant Panda Base Rebuilding Fund set up by OPCFHK.With this in mind, we invited our guests to “lend a helping hand” with a donationand make a hand-print signature on a 30-meter long birthday card for Ying Yingand Le Le, which was set up near the Main Entrance.Big Steps Forward for the Master Redevelopment Plan(MRP)We have entered the middle stages of our MRP, the six-year initiative that willdeliver new products and attractions over a total of eight phases, taking OceanPark to a new level by doubling the attractions, from the existing 35 to over70. Much of the infrastructure work has been completed, with the first majorattraction area – Amazing Asian Animals – enjoying a stupendous grand openingthat was attended by Mr Donald Tsang, the Chief Executive of the HKSAR.大 熊 貓 送 暖 到 四 川我 們 的 動 物 大 使 大 熊 貓 盈 盈 和 樂 樂 在 八 月 慶 祝 三 歲 生日 , 公 園 也 為 牠 們 舉 辦 了 別 具 心 意 的 生 日 會 。 由 於 我 們仍 然 不 忘 二 零 零 八 年 五 月 的 四 川 大 地 震 帶 來 的 災 害 , 所以 也 透 過 盈 盈 樂 樂 的 生 辰 , 喚 起 遊 人 對 四 川 大 熊 貓 保 育的 關 注 , 並 呼 籲 大 家 支 持 香 港 海 洋 公 園 保 育 基 金 之「 大 熊 貓 基 地 震 後 重 建 基 金 」。 我 們 在 公 園 正 門 入 口 附近 設 置 了 長 三 十 米 的 巨 型 生 日 卡 , 只 要 遊 人 捐 出 善 款 ,便 可 在 生 日 卡 上 打 上 手 印 , 為 盈 盈 樂 樂 , 以 及 四 川 的 大熊 貓 送 上 祝 福 。全 新 發 展 計 劃 全 速 前 進為 期 六 年 、 共 分 八 期 進 行 的 全 新 發 展 計 劃 已 進 入 中 期 階段 , 竣 工 後 將 帶 來 新 的 設 施 及 呈 獻 , 使 景 點 數 目 由 現 時的 三 十 五 項 倍 增 至 逾 七 十 項 。 現 時 擴 建 的 大 部 分 基 礎 建設 工 程 經 已 完 成 , 而 第 一 項 主 要 景 點 區 「 亞 洲 動 物 天 地 」亦 已 經 在 四 月 的 盛 大 開 幕 儀 式 上 , 由 香 港 特 別 行 政 區 行政 長 官 曾 蔭 權 先 生 主 禮 啟 用 。
