DEVELOPMENT GUIDANCE SYSTEMSECTION 13BUILDING AND ELECTRIC PERMITS13-1 PERMITS REQUIRED FOR CONSTRUCTION AND LOCATION OFSTRUCTURESPermits shall be required for the following activities and shall be issued bythe Kentucky Building Code Program in conformity with the provisions ofthis Zoning Ordinance.A. ZONING PERMITNo building or other structure shall be erected, constructed, altered,moved, converted, extended, enlarged, nor shall any building,structure, or land be established or changed in use or characterwithout a permit issued by the Director. Zoning permits are requiredfor single family dwelling units, residential additions, accessorystructures, swimming pools and retaining walls, except whenDevelopment or Site Plans are otherwise required by this ordinance.Zoning permits are also required for tenant finishes for previouslyoccupied commercial structures and where tenants were not known atthe time when Plan Review was conducted by the Hardin CountyPlanning Commission for a completed structure. Development and SitePlan Review is required when specified by Sections 6 and 7.No Zoning Permit shall be issued by the Director except in conformitywith the provisions of this ordinance, unless the Director receives awritten order from the Board deciding an appeal, conditional use, orvariance. Neither the Director nor the Building Inspector shall have thepower to permit any construction, or to permit any use or change ofuse which does not conform to the literal terms of the zoningregulations.Applications for Zoning Permits shall be made on forms provide by theKentucky Building Code Program. A completed application form asprescribed by the Director, fee, and a plot plan which indicates thelocation of the improvement, existing buildings and driveway / parkingareas, and property lines, shall be submitted. The Director shall reviewthe application and determine within three (3) working days from thesubmittal date whether the plan conforms to this Section 13 and allother applicable provisions and Sections.B. BUILDING AND ELECTRICAL PERMIT REQUIREDIndividuals shall make application and acquire building and electricalpermits prior to the commencement of any building, moving, oralteration activities.
