DEVELOPMENT GUIDANCE SYSTEMCONDITIONAL USES WITHIN THE SPECIFIED ZONES16-5 ACCESSORY STRUCTURESAn accessory structure is a structure or use customarily incidental andsubordinate to the principal structure and located on the same parcel withsuch principal structure. These standards apply when the accessorystructure is developed prior to the start of construction of the principalstructure on the property. This regulation does not apply to agriculturaluses and related accessory structures.1. Location. An accessory structure is part of the principal structure whenit is attached to the principal structure by a breezeway and shallcomply with the applicable setbacks of the zone in which it is located.2. Agriculture. Accessory structures for agricultural uses shall complywith the building setback requirements for the principal structures ofthe zone in which it is located.3. Distance. The minimum distance between buildings shall be five (5)feet.4. Size. All accessory structures shall be subordinate in scale to theprincipal structure.16-6 AGRICULTURAL TOURISM1. Setbacks. The Board may require additional setbacks for all buildingsand structures2. Parking. Public parking areas must be of an appropriate surface typesuch as gravel or paved with a durable, dustless, bound surface asdetermined by the Board.3. Policies and Procedures. The Policies and Procedures Guide for Ruraland Agricultural Health and Safety shall be used to establishappropriate conditions.The Policies and Procedures Guide will help agritourism operators andworkers prepare and plan for emergencies, prearranged visits by groups,documentation, supervision of children, proper hand-washing, animalcontact, traffic and parking, fires, tractors and display equipment, locationsfor barriers and fencing, pest control, and hayride operations.
