Mention Financial Managent.Maracaibo, Venezuela, 2011. p. 156.ABSTRACTThis study was intended to analyze the financial management of the companies thatprovide Ramp services at the airports of Zulia State, so as to, identify the types ofinvestments, funding sources, the methodology used in the planning process, problemscauses that became apparent in these companies, and optimize financial management.Also offers recommendations to make the necessary changes that allow to optimize thefinancial management and timely decision-making in an environment that becomesincreasingly more competitive. Taking into account the theoretical contributions byBesley and Brigham (2003), Knight and cabbage (2003), Ortiz (2005), Santandreu andSantandreu (2000). The study was descriptive, transversal, and with a nonexperimentaldesign, field. Due to the size of the population was not carried outsampling, we used a population census and data collection was carried out throughprimary sources used as collection, a self-administered scale questionnaire techniquelikert. The study population consisted of companies that provide services on the ramp ofthe airports in Zulia State, to which the data collection instrument, them was applied andinformation units were represented by the managers of such undertakings. The resultsshowed that these firms have strategic planning as a management philosophy and notas a guide for the development of daily activities, I identify that investments mostly usedby these companies are the maintenance, and as sources of funds providers andcompanies of the sector and self-financing given the restriction of the exchange controlnot allowing free access to the currency for the import of equipment forced to maintain aconservative position in the development of its financial management.Keywords: Financial management, investments, sources of funding, ramp, airports.E-mail address: bettysocorro@hotmail.com
