15017 GUARANTEE-WARRANTY
1. Correct promptly at own expense, defects or deficiencies in the work in accordance with the
Warranty requirements of the Contract.
2. The Engineer shall be the judge as to whether the failure is due to defective workmanship,
improper usage or ordinary wear and tear.
3. Make good any damage resulting from defective materials or workmanship.
4. Rectify any deficiencies or omissions in respect to plans or Specifications which may appear
during the guarantee period even though work has been accepted as complete.
15018 SITE VISIT
1. Before submitting prices, visit the site to determine working conditions and existing
constructions. Particular attention shall be paid to proposed methods of construction and
connection to existing system.
2. Claims of lack of knowledge of existing conditions when bidding will not be acceptable as
reason for authorization of extra charges to Contract Price.
15019 SHUTTING DOWN OR CUTTING INTO EXISTING SERVICES
1. No active existing service pipe shall be shut down or cut into without prior arrangement with the
Owner or designated representative who will schedule the work to minimize inconvenience to
Owner. When a critical service must be shut down, this contractor shall be held responsible to
meet scheduled reactivation time. He shall provide overtime work, with no increase to the
contract price if directed by the General Contractor to do so, in order to meet agreed schedules
set for service reactivation.
2. The domestic water systems shall not be shut down for longer than 6 hours in any 24 hour
period, and shut down shall be scheduled between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
15023 CODES, PERMITS & PLAN APPROVAL
1. All work done under this section of the Specifications shall be in accordance with all National,
Municipal and Provincial Codes applicable.
2. All mechanical equipment furnished shall meet all specific requirements of, and be in
accordance with, the current edition of the British Columbia Energy Efficiency Standards
Regulation issued under the British Columbia Energy Efficiency Act.
3. Abide by all public ordinances, pay all fees, obtain all permits and give all necessary notices to
authorities having jurisdiction. The Contractor shall submit the required number of Drawings
and Specifications to all authorities having jurisdiction for approval purposes.
