POLIEF JSC – Russia's unique
polyester complex – was designed in
the 80s as an integrated complex for
terephthalic acid (TPA), polyethylenterephthalate
(PETP), staple polyester
fi ber, and non-woven materials production.
The production capacity makes
230,000 metric tons of TPA and 120,000
metric tons of PETP per year.
In 2005, the fi rst line of terephthalic
acid production with a capacity of
115,000 metric tons per year was put
into operation, in 2006 – the second line
was started.
The line on polyethylenterephthalate
(PETP) production was put into
operation at POLIEF JSC in 2008. The
strategic development of the enterprise
provides for the increase of existing capacities:
up to 580,000 metric tons of
terephthalic acid and up to 600,000 metric
tons of polyethylenterephthalate per
year.
